About my childcare:
I have my own curriculum that I teach the children in my
care. I make it fun and enjoyable for all children. I go at
each children's own individual pace.
We learn 2 letters a month, 1- 2 colors, 1- 2 shapes.
We also read 1 - 2 books that go along with our theme.
Our monthly theme is the letters we are working on and,
our sub themes are things that go along with the letters.
For instance the Letter "A", we learn about Ants, Apples,
Acorns, Alligators. Our other letter is "T" for this letter we
would learn Tree, Turtle, Toad, Teddy bear and Tractor.
My learning curriculum runs from August - July each year
and we start fresh again in August advancing a little more
with their abilities.
For each age of the child I make their environment fun
and a learning at the same time. So while an older child
may be learning the letters in their names a younger child
may be learning how to put on their shoes or an infant
may be learning how to turn over or crawl. With all the
kids I teach them to help each other and encourage each
other.
We also learn how to community helpers with where we
live and our environment.
